Affectionately named Meherabode - home of the compassionate one - our center is devoted to those who love Meher Baba, as well as those interested in knowing more about Him. It’s an oasis of calm in the city where all can gather in His name.

Meher Baba declared in 1952, that he is the same Ancient One, who returns again and again, throughout the ages, to redeem man from his bondage of ignorance and to guide him to realize his true Self. Meher Baba is acknowledged by his many followers all over the world as the Avatar of the Age.

Beloved Baba's 131st Birthday Celebration

Celebrate Beloved Avatar Meher Baba’s birth with special guest from down-under and up north, singer/guitarist, and close one with poet Francis Brabazon, Raine Eastman-Gannett. She hasn’t stopped singing to Beloved Baba since 1967, first at Avatar's Abode in Australia until Francis Brabazon's passing, and in Northern California since 1989. Today she will share stories, music and poetry—both of Francis and some of her own.
Lunch followed by Baba’s homemade birthday cake from our own Shani will end
a festive day.
Because there is no end to death, we once again present the Death Cafe.
Bring your stories about death, questions about death, experiences, grief, anger and sorrow.
We'll gather together to share our human experiences and leave it all at His feet.
Chai and snacks will be served.

Meherabode is usually open on Sundays from 10:00am - 2:00pm, but there are exceptions. Check the calendar above for more information.
COVID SAFETY POLICY: Updated 9.20.23
Based on LA County Public Health and CDC guidelines, masking will be by individual preference when COVID-19 Hospital Admission Levels in the county are low. Masking is still strongly recommended for vulnerable persons, including those who are elderly, immunocompromised, or have underlying health conditions. As many in our community are vulnerable, please consider masking when in crowded indoor places. We will continue to update this policy regularly as Public Health guidelines evolve.

Meher Baba Books carries over 300 distinct titles. Some are out of print and others are typically only available in India. We also accept used book donations and make them available both on-line and in the store at discounted rates. Currently there are over 100 previously owned books in stock.
We have nearly 1000 CDs and DVDs represented by about 200 distinct titles. There is an extensive collection of Glow, Love Street Lamp Post and Awakener magazines, not to mention photographs, posters, and jewelry.
