Meherabode
Avatar Meher Baba Center of Southern California
1214 South Van Ness Avenue
Los Angeles
Affectionately named Meherabode - home of the compassionate one - our center is devoted to those who love Meher Baba, as well as those interested in knowing more about Him. It’s an oasis of calm in the city where all can gather in His name.
“I have come not to teach but to awaken.” ~Meher Baba
Meher Baba declared in 1952, that he is the same Ancient One, who returns again and again, throughout the ages, to redeem man from his bondage of ignorance and to guide him to realize his true Self. Meher Baba is acknowledged by his many followers all over the world as the Avatar of the Age.

Thank you!

11:00am - 2:00pm
Join us at Meherabode on Baba’s Beloved Mehera’s Birthday, Sunday December 22nd from 11-2, for holiday festive fun. In the spirit of Meher Baba’s Beads on One String, this year Christmas and the first night of Hannukah fall on the same day. Whether you celebrate Kwanza or Yalda or Yule together we welcome the return of light in the darkness in His embrace.
Elaine Munson will lead carolers spreading Baba’s cheer with Mehermasnukah songs. For the youngsters and the young at heart, gingerbread house decorating and games of dreidel. The Center will be handing out gifts for children of all ages.
Potato latkes and Christmas dinner for everyone: omnivores, vegetarians, gluten eaters and non. Anyone interested in doing an adult gift exchange, please wrap your handmade, gently used or (inexpensive) new gift to share. Friends and family welcome and encouraged—especially the children in your life. Jai Ho Ho Ho!

COVID SAFETY POLICY: Updated 9.20.23
Based on LA County Public Health and CDC guidelines, masking will be by individual preference when COVID-19 Hospital Admission Levels in the county are low. Masking is still strongly recommended for vulnerable persons, including those who are elderly, immunocompromised, or have underlying health conditions. As many in our community are vulnerable, please consider masking when in crowded indoor places. We will continue to update this policy regularly as Public Health guidelines evolve.
